Fresh Del Monte earnings lifted by higher prices

The company had faced challenges from higher costs, though in the latest quarter, it said it benefited from a 3% increase in world-wide pricing on bananas. "Our performance was driven by higher sales volume in our banana and other fresh produce business segments and increased world-wide banana selling prices," said Chief Executive Mohammad Abu-Ghazaleh.
