Gas industry leaders go into battle for LNG

Gas industry leaders have stepped up the rhetoric over the carbon and reliability benefits of the fuel as the producers struggle with some of the weakest prices for years in the export market and face increasing pressures from the fossil fuel divestment trend at home. Origin Energy managing director Grant King said those investors turning their backs on fossil fuels altogether were "throwing upon the community a reliability risk far greater than they understand" given the capacity of gas to provide secure and reliable energy supplies.
