General Growth slices Ala Moana Center redevelopment costs in half

General Growth Properties has sliced the cost of redeveloping the former Sears space at Ala Moana Center , and repositioning the Nordstrom department store, by $247 million through sales of its stake in Hawaii's largest shopping mall to outside investors, according to the Chicago-based real estate investment trust's first quarter earnings report released on Monday.
