(Telecompaper) The UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has served Google with an enforcement notice over the collection of payload data by Google Street View cars in the UK. This places a legal requirement on the company to delete the remaining payload data identified last year within the next 35 days and immediately inform the ICO if any further disks are found. The ICO's investigation into whether Google's privacy policy complies with the Data Protection Act is on-going. This investigation is part of coordinated action by data protection regulators across Europe, to assess whether Google's latest privacy policy clearly explains how individuals' personal information is being used across the company's products and services.
