Herald Tribune: Greenhouse gas emissions in Brazil amounted to 1.5 million tons in 2013, up 7.8 percent from 2012 and the highest total since 2008, non-governmental organizations said in a report released on Wednesday.
The study by the Climate Observatory mainly attributes the increase in emissions to Amazon deforestation, increased use of thermoelectric plants and greater fuel consumption.
