Formal agreements with Union Pacific Railway, a shopping cart ordinance and hookah lounge ban update all face the Tehachapi City Council at its meeting at 6 p.m. on Feb 17 at 300 South Robinson St. City staff will ask the council to formalize what it has dubbed a "gentleman's agreement" with Union Pacific to use Tehachapi's "H" Street water turnout in the railroad's efforts to deliver water to the town of Keene. According to the staff report by Public Works Director Jon Curry, Union Pacific has been using the city's distribution system for at least 40 years to access its water supply in its hauling service.
