ISS and International Education Operations Coordinator

For our activities in ESTEC, we are currently looking for an ISS and International Education Operations Coordinator. Main responsibilities Tasks and Responsibilities Your tasks will include the following In close coordination with the ESERO and Didactics area coordinators, defining the educational activities for every ESA mission to the ISS in collaboration with designated entities, such as national space agencies from each astronauts home country and inline with the strategic objectives of the ESA Education and Knowledge Management Office Defining the requirements for each onorbit activity for revision and approval by the ISS Utilization Implementation Board UIB Coordinating with flight hardware developer and overseeing the development process of educational payloads with appointed ESAs Payload Integration Manager Preparing procedures for onorbit execution and onorbit scripts Liaising with appointed User Science Operations Centres USOCs Participating in the Experiment Sequence Tests EST organised by appropriate USOC an providing input to the PODF documents Drafting and providing input to various operational products e.g. Experiment Science Requirements ESR documents, Mission Operations Implementation Concept MOIC document Participating to ESA internal management meetings and other ISS related meetings Defining and providing the needed operational inputs and other relevant information to astronaut trainers for their training sessions on educational payloads and activities with ESA astronauts Assuring delivery of the acceptance data packages to the Payload Safety Review Panel PSRP Participating and assisting PSRP in safety reviews Accepting the flight hardware Assuring delivery of flight hardware to the launch site or to an entity responsible for deliver to launch site Monitoring onorbit execution and if needed assisting appointed USOC in onorbit execution Obtaining the results of onorbit activities and distributing them to the involved entities Organising and managing educational inflight calls Providing support, coordinating and ensuring the agreed preflight and postflight activities are properly executed Liaising on behalf of ESA with the ISS Education Working Group composed of ASI, CSA, ESA, JAXA, Roscosmos and NASA Providing input to ESA Communications Office for the ISS communication campaign purposes Collaborating with ARISS on contacts assigned to ESA Representing ESA in the International Space Education Board ISEB composed of AEM, CNES, CSA, ESA, KARI, JAXA, NASA, SANSA and VSSEC Coorganising with other ISEB partners the ISEB Student Participation Programme at IAC Participating in ISEB Working Group teleconferences Developing other bilateral and multilateral ISEB activities Supporting the outreach, promotion and dissemination of ESA primary and secondary education activities, through appropriate channels and in compliance with ESA Education outreach guidelines, in the area of concern Supporting the evaluation of education activities against Key Performance Indicators in the area of concern Responding to the direct contacts and external requests from education partners and the European education community in the area of concern Supporting in general the activities of the STEM Education and Outreach Unit when requested. Ideal candidate Requirements You should bring a university Master degree, or equivalent, in a STEM discipline Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics with at least 4 years of experience in the space and education fields, and the following Experience in ESAs human spaceflightISSrelated activities would be an asset Experience in international environments, project management, active STEM teaching and communication Capability of establishing and maintaining high level interfaces within and outside the Agency Autonomy in the execution of tasks and ability to manage his her workload, identifying priorities and strategic actions ability to cope with pressure, meet deadlines and deliver on time Fluent in English knowledge of another Member State language is an asset Good communication skills, verbal in public and during formal meetings and written ability to work in a team.
