Space Applications Services performs and supports system and software engineering for the European Space Agency ESA, National Space Agencies and the aerospace industry. We are involved in international manned unmanned spacecraft programmes, earth observation, science, exploration, communications and related technology development. We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position Tasks and Responsibilities This is a full time position to join the team performing hardware and software infrastructure and software application support. The work will be divided between the Companys headquarter in Zaventem 3 daysweek and a location of one of our spacerelated customers in the South of Brussels 2 daysweek, with occasional missions to our office in Noordwijk in the Netherlands. The main assignments include the following Manage and troubleshoot heterogeneous IT infrastructure Linux, Mac OS and Windows workstations and servers. Support, maintain and upgrade inhouse tools, intranet and internet services. Maintain company network infrastructure. Execute, verify and improve backup and disaster recovery procedures. Support the existing and implement new services. Write comprehensive documentation on the infrastructure procedures, configuration. Provide user and project specific assistance. Provide dedicated onsite support to the IT infrastructure at a space centre in Brussels 2 daysweek. Qualifications and Experience The candidates should have an education typically a B.Sc. in a relevant discipline system or network administration, computer science, etc., or have equivalent experience. The following skills are required for the position Experience working in a small team. Knowledge of, and capable of solving problems on Windows and Linux. Skilled in scripting in Bash, Python, HTMLCSS, and PHP. Experience in supporting and managing web services. Minimum 3 years of LinuxWindows system administration experience. Excellent knowledge of TCPIP network administration troubleshooting. Good knowledge and experience with open source software Samba, Postfix, BIND, ISC DHCP, NFS, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Apache.
