A Spanish leader company in Aerospace Engineering and Scientific services with more than 45 years of experience working for NASA and 35 years working for ESA seeks a candidate for a postion of Support Scientific User Community and the Instrument Calibration Teams. Specific tasks requirements for this position Knowledge of astronomical instrumentation, acquired through astronomical instrument hardware development andor intensive astronomical data reduction experience. Experience and understanding of farinfrared instruments would be a distinct advantage. Experience in interacting with the scientific community. An interest in performing science research with Herschel data is considered a plus. Specific Qualification Requirements Masters University degree, PhD preferred, in AstronomyAstrophysics or Physics, or equivalent and relevant professional experience, Other Information In order to cover the service required, the selected contractors must be willing to operate in a team environment and with the astronomical community around the world. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. The contractors should be comfortable in an international working environment and be fluent in English, one of the official languages of ESA. Proposals are acceptable that take into account fulfilling the service requirements from an off site location.
