Closing date 19th October 2017 Within our customer GSI Generic Systems and Infrastructure division the key person will support the activities related to the engineering and maintenance of the long term archive within the Data Services Engineering team. PROFILE Mandatory skills University degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline A minimum of 5 year experience in the following areas Provision of 2nd line maintenance support for operational systems Software Engineering with extensive experience in developing, maintaining and testing software components and applications in the Java and CC programming languages under UnixLinux using the Object Oriented 00 approach Software verification, validation and maintenance, following a formal approach Relation Database schema design and optimization experience XML, XML Schema and XSLT technologies. Additional skills considering as an added value Operations and maintenance of long term archive software and systems in a 247 operational environment Report writing and administration in JIRA Maintenance and administration of Jenkins Tomcat Application server development Spatial Solutions Oracle Locator, PostgresPostgis Software Building and Package management gradle, ant Continuous integration and deployment. On top of those skills, the key person must have good team working skills while also demonstrating the ability to take initiative, work autonomously and have excellent analytical skills. TASKS The Long Term Archive Software Engineer shall perform the following activities Requirements elicitation, design, implementation, testing, software configuration, and maintenance of documentation for Long Term Archive bespoke software systems and related commercial off the shelf software COTS Contribution to the entire software life cycle with a strong focus on testing, validation and verification Investigation into anomalies, their documentation, classification and the delivery of SW correction and accompanying documentation, including updates to automated tests and the execution of relevant regression testing Engineering level service for the Long Term Archive, communicating and interacting with other teams Identification of gaps and areas of improvement in the Long Term archive, leading to evolutions including identification of new technologies and concepts in support to these evolutions.
