MTA opts for more mediation with LIRR unions, delaying strike

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority officially requested that a second Presidential Emergency Board be formed to conduct another round of mediation with LIRR unions, a move that legally delays the earliest possible date for a LIRR strike until to July 19.
