MTA under fire over pigeon management at LIRR station

NY State Senator Phil Boyle and officials from the Village of Lindenhurst on Long Island are in a flap with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority over the death of dozens of pigeons at the Long Island Railroad station. While local authorities had appealed to the MTA to do something about the huge amounts of bird droppings on sidewalks and parking lots in the downtown area near Wellwood Avenue, they had no desire to see the birds killed.
