This post is classified in the A2A4 grade band of the Coordinated Organisations salary scale. LOCATION ESTEC, with resident assignment in Toulouse France. DUTIES The postholder will be deployed in the Development and AIV Section of the EGNOS and SBAS Division Navigation, and will report to the Navigation and Support Segments Manager. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for following and managing the industrial activities in the area of specifications, design, development and validation for the EGNOS V2 Central Processing Facility CPF Software sets and Hardware equipment ensuring that the System Platform EGNOS Evolutions and Development SPEED Navigation Kernel releases are produced and used in coherence with the equivalent CPF releases supporting the various Navigation kernels experimentation conducted using SPEED in the frame of EGNOS V2 V3, Africa and other test beds supporting the management at technical level of the industrial activities in the area of specifications, design, development and validation for the EGNOS V3 Software components and Hardware equipment part of the Data Processing Segment DPS ensuring that the CPFDPS Applications and Commercial off the Shelves COTS critical software meet the ESA and EGNOS development, certification and applicable navigation standards acting as the referent in the area of navigation performance allocated to CPFDPS and supporting at system level the project team in the area of navigation and services performance assessment contributing to Research and Development activities by proposing navigation kernel experimentations and improvements for supporting the various Navigation Test Beds activities of the Department supporting the system Qualification, Safety and AIV engineers in his area of expertise. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this position should have a Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, physics or Computer science with proven knowledge and experience in the fields of Navigation and related data processing and performances aspects. It is also required to have sufficient knowledge of the Civil Aviation domain mission, organisation, standards, etc. Experiences in SBAS Systems, procurement of industrial activities, in safety critical software and realtime software development and verification is an asset. Candidates are expected to demonstrate organisation skills, good practical sense, being able to work effectively in a team and be able to autonomously take decision in his field of responsibility. A willingness to travel and the capability to work in a demanding international environment are also important attributes. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these two languages is required together with a working knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of another member state language is an asset.
