Share buybacks and solid growth in sales and earnings have helped Norfolk Southern create a solid economic moat. NSC has struggled in 2015, down 29% on the year and, consistent with my own investment thesis, it's better to buy in at a fair or low earnings multiple when a company's market price is far lower than its 52-week high.
