For our customer, the European Space Agency ESA, we are currently looking for an OnBoard Data Systems Engineer to work at ESTEC, the ESA Technical Center in Noordwijk NL. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES In the TECEDD section, the main tasks are to provide ESA with functional support in the field of OnBoard Computer Data Systems Engineering covering the Platform and payload data handling architectures and their building blocks Equipment, Onboard computers, key components, signal processing electronics, Frontend acquisition, security, encryption, machine learning and artificial intelligence. The tasks will include Participating in feasibility studies, project reviews and the evaluation of procurement proposals Identifying critical development problems and assisting in their resolution Contributing to the definition of work plans for technology programmes Laboratory activities Maintaining stateoftheart expertise and contributing to the dissemination of the results of the activities performed and the transfer of knowledge. SPECIFIC COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS High degree organizational and communication abilities. Comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants should have A Masters degree or PhD in Electronics, networks, telecommunications or equivalent A Hardware Design and Test Expertise related to Platform and Data Handling Equipment would be important asset The working language is English, and French would be appreciated. LOCALISATION Clemessy Netherlands BV, with onsite fulltime position in ESTEC premises Noordwijk, NL. Travels in Europe can be requested. ESTIMATED START DATE 01072021
