RAL Space Autonomous Systems Group Leader 44,670 to 47,521 Band F Harwell, Oxfordshire Reference IRC191853 Looking to make a difference in the world of space science and space technology? RAL Space is the Science and Technology Facilities Councils space department, located at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, and is looking for a new leader for the existing Autonomous System Group. This position will require the successful candidate to provide strong technical, programmatic and inspirational leadership of a range of autonomous systems projects in the space and nonspace domains at all stages of the project lifecycle. The role offers the right candidate the opportunity to shape the strategy and future direction of the Group with some freedom to prioritise and select the mix of future projects. The candidate will be expected to have a strong technical foundation in the areas of Systems Engineering and or Autonomous Systems and have the demonstrated ability and drive to be able to apply this knowledge in a wide range of multidisciplinary applications. These technical competencies are to be complemented with the ability to lead a team of highly motivated engineers to deliver scientific and commercially successful autonomous systems projects.
