It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy for a Reliability Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. The Reliability Engineering Group is involved in the complete lifecycle of RAMS activities associated with Spacecraft and its constituent parts. These range from requirements capture, support to system engineering, design optimisation, and the production of the necessary analyses to meet Customer requirements. You will work in close collaboration with other Engineering disciplines analysing designs quantifying results in reliability terms and recommending improvements to those designs, where possible, to improve the reliability. The reliability aspects may cover System designs at the highest level down to equipment designs at the lowest level, from project conception through to final delivery of hardware. You will work concurrently with the FDIR specialists and provide the necessary inputs as part of the FDIR process. You will carry out Reliability engineering activities in support of the Project System teams within the various Airbus Defence and Space business units. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Performing all required Project Reliability Availability Maintainability Safety RAMS tasks whether at System, PayloadPlatform or Equipment level Support the updating of inhouse Plans and procedures related to RAMS Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety Performing tradeoffs and redundancy optimisation studies Supporting the synthesis of relevant RAMS budgets. The successful applicant will have involvement in the following activities Functional analysis Support to FDIR DefinitionValidation Contingency analysis Risk analysis Reliability, availability and maintainability analyses FMECA, HSIA, Fault Tree analyses Safety assessmenthazard analysis The production of Reliability and Safety Critical Item list Support the monitoring and control of equipments or subsystems subcontractors for RAMS aspects. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Graduate level or equivalent in a Science subject, Mathematics or Electronic Engineering Experience in System Engineering with serious interest in Reliability Engineering Ability to perform all RAMS analyses Prediction, FMECA, FTA, etc Good knowledge of RAMS methods, processes and techniques Working knowledge of reliability software tools such as Relex would be an asset Good computer skills, familiarity with MS Office Good communication skills both oral and written.
