Solenix is specialized in the provision of highquality software engineering, technical consulting and operations services in the aerospace domain. This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. Satellite Application Facilities Engineer 1613026 Job Description We are looking for a Satellite Application Facilities Engineer SAF to support our client EUMETSAT. SAFs are EUMETSAT elements of the infrastructure that makes up the Application Ground Segments. They are established for exploitation of the satellite missions data and extraction of geophysical parameters relevant for meteorology, climate change monitoring and earth environmental and societal benefit applications. SAFs are developed and operated by specialized, excellence centres set up by National Meteorological Services and Research Institutes of EUMETSAT Member and Cooperating States, forming consortia for the production and operational delivery of level 2 and higher order products, using primarily the EUMETSAT satellites observation data as well as complementary inputs from other satellite systems, radiosondes, atmospheric profiles, assimilation and forecasts data and as available insitu measurements and synoptic observations. SAFs also develop software packages for use at end user sites. Your tasks will consist of Input to SAF Review Organisation Notes Review specific RID tool configurations Technical Notes, reports and other outputs as necessary Updated web areas systemtools and related contents. Required Skills and Experience At least a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or, and a proven experience and skills as specified hereafter. General Knowledge of Ground Segment Engineering lifecycles Experience in Project Reviews Organisation and conduction Knowledge of requirements definition and traceability Knowledge of engineering standards used in Ground Segment Developments, such as ECSS Experience in WEB application in implementing and maintaining web contents and services for Internet, Intranet and Extranet systems Experience in using Web Contents Management Systems. Experience in PHPJavaScriptHTML5CSS3 Experience in Relational Database e.g Oracle and metadata management for documentation systems based on extranet. Desirable Skills and Experience Experience in one or more of the following will be considered as an advantage Basic knowledge of Verification and Validation processes Use of Web Collaboration Tools Knowledge of Internet technical and organisational aspects, internetworking concepts and architectures, classical Internet applications e.g. FTP, SMTP, NNTP Knowledge of using, XML,XSD, and XSLT Being EUMETSAT ISO 9001 certified, experience of working in an ISOcertified environment would be also appreciated.
