Satellite Operations Engineer for EPS MetOp

This is a great opportunity for an Engineer with experience in routine operations or operations preparation of Low Earth Orbit LEO satellites The position is placed on customer side in EUMETSATDarmstadt and will start in March 2016. Application closing deadline is 1st of March 2016. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES The tasks of the Key person will typically include Provision of operational expertise to one or more EPS MetOp platform subsystems andor payload instruments Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures, including the update and operational validation of procedures releases in a configuration controlled environment Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments, including definition and possibly prototyping of additional analysis checks where necessary Investigations into satellite anomalies. This may require a close cooperation with the Operations Support Entity in ESTEC and Industry Participation in the satellite oncall support rota Identification and support to implementation of system and process improvements concerning the Metop Spacecraft Operations Team responsibilities and interfaces. Support to the system and operations preparation of other LEO satellites QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE Engineer with experience in routine operations or operations preparation of Low Earth Orbit LEO satellites ESSENTIAL SKILLS Fluency in English Inorbit operations of Low Earth Orbit Earth Observation satellites DESIRABLE SKILLS Experience in the operation or development of satellite flight operations facilities, in particular procedure development, monitor and control, mission planning, onboard software management, performance analysis, configuration management and simulator facilities BENEFITS Competitive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package including 30 days holiday, generous training possibilities and Telespazio VEGA Deutschland pension scheme is offered to the successful candidate.
