Satellite Operations Preparation Engineer

Take advantage of this great opportunity to join an exciting international operation, using satellite technology and equipment to monitor the weather, environment and climate from space 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This role offers the successful candidate the chance to progress their career within Europes Meteorological Satellite Agency EUMETSAT and to work on one of the larger, more high tech satellites. The successful candidate will act as the link between the European Space Agency ESA and EUMETSAT as part of an integrated space segment team. As well as university degree in a relevant subject, the key candidate shall have skills and experience in each of the following areas Proven experience in the Space Segment engineering, procurement and operations, preferably in the frame of an Earth Observation satellite development. Familiarity with the management of ESA development programmes. Familiarity with SCOS mission control systems and in particular Databases and OBSW management. Proven ability to understandsynthesise complex issues and appreciate conflicting interests. Candidates shall have excellence interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to apply these to interacting with teams with conflicting interests. All applicants must be EUMETSAT member state nationals with a good working knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written.
