Satellite Simulator Software Engineer

This position, based near Frankfurt in Germany, is for a graduate Consultant with at least 3 years experience of spacecraft simulators systems and in particular knowledge of the SIMULUS software suite from ESAESOC. Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. The successful candidates duties will cover the support to routine operations for existing missions and the evolution and maintenance of simulator systems of future missions. The key experience and skills sought are Experience in software maintenance and evolution of Spacecraft Simulators based on SIMULUS suite from ESAESOC Experience in the definition and design of SMP2 compliant software models of spacecraft service platform subsystems Knowledge and understanding of space related standards ECSS and CCSDS Experience in the full cycle of development of application software for SIMULUS based simulator Experience in corrective maintenance , integration and verification testing activities of application software following formal software engineering processes Experience in defining automatic testing suites at unit and components integration level Experience developing software applications using Java and C under UNIX Experience developing software applications using objectoriented technologies, UML for software design and CASE design tools The working language is English.
