Senior Legal Counsel mf Ref SES0501 Region Europe Location Luxembourg Betzdorf Company SES Category Legal Position Staff Published 20141120 Context The Senior Legal Counsel provides assistance in all legal and contractual matters to the Product Development Management PDM division SES Techcom Services, SES Broadband Services, SES Global Access Services and SES Platform Services and the SES groups Government and Institutions activities collectively PDM and GI. The Senior Legal Counsel also provides support and guidance on a variety of legal matters to other company divisions on an asneeded basis. Responsibilities Structure, draft, negotiate and finalise contracts and responses to tenders in relation with PDM and GI activities ensuring compliance with applicable national and international laws and regulations Respond to internal customer requests for legal assistance in relation to PDM and GI activities Ensure contract implementation and administration and ensure follow up with internal and external business partners Interface regularly and proactively with internal PDM and GI internal business partners Participate to and propose proactive legal risks management initiative for PDM and GI activities Liaise with specialised outside legal advisors as required Provide assistance to the Companys PDM affiliates and subsidiaries or the GI team on all legal aspects as required Act as a legal advisor to crossfunctional teams in furtherance of strategic and new product development initiatives and Perform other tasks as required. Experience Qualifications Master degree or LLM in law Bar qualification 7 to 10 years of post qualification experience in a law firm or legal department of a Company Experience in the high techtelecommunicationmedia sectors would be of advantage Computer literacy Word, Excel, PowerPoint Fluency in English is essential. Good working knowledge of French or German would be an asset. Additional European languages are also considered an asset Good knowledge of general contract, IT and commercial law, knowledge of applicable public procurement rules would be an advantage Excellent English legal drafting skills Excellent negotiation skills and ability to maintain high level of legal risk mitigation for SES Legal creativity and ability to draft contracts for a wide variety of new business activities Ability to work across multifunction, multilevel and multicultural groups Strong ability to manage time, set priorities and work independently in an international orientated and demanding commercial environment Able to work in an accurate and organised manner with proven attention to detail Flexibility and teamspirit Customer focus and solutions focus Proactive and result orientated approach, can do mentality and ability to work autonomously and Rapidity in acquiring new knowledge.
