For the location in Darmstadt Germany we are looking for a Sentinel3 Spacecraft Operations Engineer at ESOC. Tasks The primary area of responsibility for this position is for Satellite Operations System Engineering, covering the area of System Operations including among others the FDIR, Interfaces between Platform OBSW AOCS , and Instrument Units when applicable, and to support the implementation and execution of the Commissioning plan in addition general SOE Services for additional subsystems or systems may be requested. Other areas of responsibility and support specific to Sentinel3 are Validation, test and operation of the MCS, including the OBSM and Mission Planning System Validation, test and operation of the Simulator Generation, validation and maintenance of the FOP primarily on System Volumes but also for other subsystems as required Support for FOS procurement, integration and tests Support the interfaces with external partners Industry, PDGS, CNES, EUMETSAT Review of satellite documents LEOP support support SOM and the Deputy SOM as System operations engineer Commissioning support support SOM and the Deputy SOM in the preparation, implementation and execution of the Commissioning Plan Essential requirements The following knowledge and experience is considered essential for this role Spacecraft System Operations knowledge, including FDIR SW at HW level , interfaces between Platform and SW, AOCS and Instruments Experience in working in an operational environment Experience with flight procedures life cycle, including preparation of high level plans Timelines, phase dependent plans Experience with organisation or execution of tests involving both ground and space segment Experience with anomaly investigations Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Ability to work independently and with little supervision Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Experience dealing with external international partners Experience with Packet Utilisation Standard Experience with the ESOC environment Experience with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000 Experience with low Earth orbit satellites Experience with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat Desirable requirements It would be considered an advantage to have knowledge in the following Familiarity preparing, implementing and executing operations for scientific instruments Familiarity with multi satellite missions Familiarity with operational support tools EDDS, MUST, etc Other Information Start date is 1st January 2015 Candidates must be an EU citizen or hold a valid German work and residence visa To ensure your application reaches us please apply online at httpwww.scisys.despacejobs
