We are looking for a Sentinels Spacecraft Operations Engineer mfd to work at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany Your Tasks The Spacecraft Operations Engineer within the Sentinels Copernicus Teams will cover primarily the areas of Guidance and Navigation Engineering httpwww.esa.intOurActivitiesObservingtheEarthCopernicusOverview4 The Spacecraft Operations Engineer SOE is responsible For the support to the Sentinels missions as a member of the Flight Control Teams FCT during the operational phases, including special operations i.e. LEOP, Commissioning, deorbiting For the participation to testing campaigns Simulations, SVT, inflight tests of the above mentioned missions. This SOE service team element within the Sentinels missions includes the following responsibilities Act as Expert operations engineer in the Sentinels Guidance and Navigation areas, during LEOP, Commissioning and Routine phases Validation, test and operation of the MCS, including the OBSM and Mission Planning System Validation, test and operation of the Simulator Generation, validation and maintenance of the FOP primarily on OCP and AOCS, but also for other subsystems Support to test and operate the NDIU Support for FOS procurement, integration and tests Review of satellite documents LEOP support responsible for AOCS Commissioning support responsible for AOCS and OCP of the assigned Sentinels Missions and provide expertise on those areas to the any of the other Sentinels SOMs when required. The candidate is required to familiarise himherself with the missions heshe is supporting and in particular with the procedures and tools that are needed to perform the Sentinel operations. The tasks to be performed require considerable initiative, flexibility and independence in executing the assigned tasks. Your Profile Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience in Satellite Flight Operations, including FDIR. In particular, for this service support expert knowledge in the areas of optical communication payloads operations laser links, Sentinels OCP, etc and guidance and navigation AOCS, Ground navigation and control, etc are required Experience with Packet Utilisation Standard Experience in working in an operational environment Experience with flight procedures life cycle, including validation Experience with anomaly investigations Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Experience with low Earth orbit satellites operations, including experience in preparatory phase OPSPREP, special operations LEOP, Deorbiting campaign and operational phase routine Ability to work independently and with little supervision Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Capable of coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Familiarity with operational simulators, ideally SimSat, and management of SPRs life cycle Familiarity with satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000 Familiarity with Earth Observations missions, in particular with Copernicus Sentinels Familiarity with TMTC databases, preferably SCOS2000 compatible Familiarity with multisatellite missions Experience in ground tests preparation and execution, e.g. SVTs Experience in cooperation with Flight Dynamics teams The following will be considered as an advantage Familiarity with Network Distribution and Interface Units or similar EGSE equipment Familiarity with MUST Familiarity with ESOC working environment and Quality Management System QMS We offer With SCISYS you get the chance to take responsibility for your own and varied professional activities, while there is always room for producing new ideas and contributing your personality Get to know a corporate culture where team spirit, trust and dedication are the core values Short decision paths, flexible working hours and a good reconciliation of work and everyday life are a matter of course for us Interested?
