(Telecompaper) Serbia's new Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic, has announced that the government will have to sell Telekom Srbija, reports B92. In a speech to Parliament, Vucic announced the beginning of the privatization of Telekom Srbija in the first 100 days of government, explaining that the operator needs to be privatized in order to keep pace with the competition. He recalled that the share of Telekom Srbija in the mobile telephony market has been decreasing and there is no longer a monopoly in fixed telephony. Vucic also announced that a 4G licence will be awarded in Serbia, but the state and Telekom Srbija currently do not have the funds to finance the construction of the network.
