We are looking for a technical service manager with experiences in ground segment systems maintenance and sound software system engineering knowledge. As staff of the Ground Segment Systems Division, the objective is to ensure successful delivery of services to clients, including European Space institutions. Initially, the candidate will manage an established team in charge of the maintenance of the ground segment of one of the European Earth Observation satellites. This complex data processing system hardware and software is operational 247 with high performance requirements. We are looking forward to meeting you! ResponsibilitiesDuties The Service manager Is the managerial and technical interface to the customers technical representatives TR and monitor the service performance for each assigned work package WP Is responsible for the provision of the services assigned to the service team as specified in the work package descriptions WPDs and the service level requirements, planning and organising the service Manages the maintenance and support team, assigns tasks to the service team members Manages the subcontractors contributions to the service Prepares and delivers the monthly service report to the customer and company internal financial reports Agrees with TR on planning, execution and delivery aspects of the services with respect to schedule, activity priority or change of priority, technical content or other specific aspects of the tasks assigned Coordinates with the TR and plans oncall support and service delivery in critical phases Identifies opportunities to extendadd to the services delivered Prepares responses to change requests from the TR for existing or new WPs including subcontractor contributions Ensures through appropriate monitoring that the service team execute the services in compliance withadhering to customer operational practices, standards, requirements and service KPIs QualificationsExperience Degree in a technical domain e.g. informatics, software engineering, computer science. Strong software development experience in Java using Eclipse frameworks Essential Skills Experience in space industry, preferably with knowledge of satellite ground segment systems Excellent organisational skills and planning, team player Good communication and negotiation skills Diplomatic in the approach to problem solving Ability to build a strong relationship of trust with the customer, understanding the constraints the customer operates in Competent in technical uptake Ability to identify new business opportunities Proven capability to work within a multicultural environment and with remote team members Proactiveness Fluency in spoken and written English Desirable Skills Project or service management certification end to end ground segment systems integration and validation experience Understanding of complex hardware platforms and their configuration Knowledge of LINUX software package and tools Your Benefits of joining us By joining the Telespazio family, you will enjoy all the benefits of a competitive salary in a sustainable work environment, flexible working time models, diverse advancement and training opportunities for technical, language and soft skills, a generous holiday package as well as a company pension scheme.
