The job In order to support the growth of our activities at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt Germany, we are looking for an expert SW packager, builder and deployer. The successful candidate will be part of a team which will deliver the following services items Building, packaging and installations of software solutions Interface to COTS support and maintenance providers System administration Enduser initiated changes IT engineering service Support to operations Skills and experience general profile The applicant shall have a University degree in a relevant subject typically Computer Science or IT Engineering and at least 5 years of applicable work experience skills and experience The candidate shall be able to demonstrate an at least good to expert proficiency level in as many as possible of the following skills and abilities Software configuration management principles UnixLinux command line OS automatic installation solutions Linux AutoYast and Kickstart, Orcharhino ForemanSatellite unattended, centralized software installation mechanisms PXETFTP SW provisioning, configuration management and deployment tools Ansible SW build environments and tools Ant, Maven, autoconfautomake, make Version control systems such as SVN, CVS, ClearCase, git Software packaging formats such as RPM, PKG, LPP, tgz Scripting languages e.g. bash, ksh, csh, Perl, Python Networking, distributed applications, and TCPIP services Basic UNIXLinux System Administration CC and Java programming languages Change Management processes Administration and troubleshooting of distributed systems VMware IT security principles and concepts Good understanding of incident and problem management Technical documentation skills Experience in an operational or production environment with a high number of custom applications. desirable skills the following skills will be considered as an asset Container technologies Docker Serena Dimensions CM Basic Windows System Administration MySQL and Oracle Databases Formalised Software Testing High Availability software like RedHat HA AddOn, Veritas Cluster or any other The working language is English.
