Aurora has the opportunity to expand our support to ESA in the domain of Software Control Systems Engineering SWC. Overview The Software Engineer will join the Software Technology section TECSWT. He will be assigned to support the projects and activities in the domain of DevOps. The main duties encompass installation, development, operation, maintenance and support of the DevOps infrastructure used by projects including Collaborative Software Development Environment CSDE and all the related tools and applications Eclipse, JIRA, Jenkins, Confluence, Virtualisation technologies, DOORS, etc.. Software Verification Facilities SVF and related tools as Gitlab, compilers GCC, LLVM, Debuggers, software simulation and emulation including HWintheloop. Satellite Reference DataBase SRDB, related tools SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and DataOps. Electrical Ground Support Equipment EGSE Reference Facility and in particular related development technologies. Web site and related applications. In performing these duties, the post holder is expected to interface with the different project teams and ensure their training when required. In addition, the post holder may have to support the definition and execution of activities of the Software Systems Division in his domain of expertise. Specific qualification requirements A Master degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, together with a minimum of 4 years working experience in the Software development methods and tools. Results orientation and relationship management are considered important. The candidate should be familiar with modern software engineering practices and tools. Knowledge in Software production and test processes, i.e. DevOps including requirement, engineering continuous integration, testing and associated tools is mandatory e.g. JIRA, Jenkins, Confluence, DOORS. The contractor will be required to administer Atlassian tools and DOORs installations. Expert knowledge of containerization Docker and intermediate knowledge of virtualization Vmware is mandatory. Knowledge of Java and Eclipse framework is mandatory. Software practical experience, Object Oriented design methods as UML and eCore, databases SQL, compilers, XML, XSLT, Linux, Windows and web application development as well as programming and scripting languages such as C, C, TclTk, Python, Java are an important asset. Knowledge of Cloud technologies and solution is interesting. Knowledge in software development processes and standards ECSS, aircrafts, train, automotive is interesting. A proactive and cando attitude is expected to problemsolving, plus good planning and organisational skills. Candidates should demonstrate ability to work and communicate effectively with supported project teams and within the Software Systems division. Applicants must be eligible for security clearance by their national security administration. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line with ESA Job Class. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included. Aurora assist with relocation both with support and financially.
