Summary We have a new opportunity for an engineer to provide Software PA Support to work on current and future ESA missions. Objective To contribute to the technical software PA requirements and to evaluate contractors plans and the technical specifications on behalf of ESA. Responsibilities Duties The support tasks including the following Contribute the establishing of the programmatic and technical software PA requirements within the framework of the ESA Software policy. Evaluate Contractors plans, technical specifications and efforts proposed for the execution of SW PA programme. Monitor and evaluate SW PA analyses, reports and technical notes. Participation to project reviews, meetings, Configuration Control Boards, Nonconformance Review Boards and Software Review Boards. Prepare design trade offs, analyses and reports using metrics to support project decisions. Participate to software product evaluations and process assessments. Establish and maintain databases to track NCRs, RFWs, action items etc. as required Qualifications Experience Masters degree or equivalent in software engineering or computer science with background in space engineering. Substantial relevant professional work experience. Familiarity with space product assurance practices together with a good working knowledge of appropriate working tools. Knowledge and proven experience in Configuration management of complex systems Good experience of software engineering and PA in critical applications Essential Skills Practical experience in applying ECSS SW standards. Qualities The selected candidate must be willing to operate in an international team environment. Candidates should be, flexible and able to work as a member of a small interdisciplinary team Good interpersonal and communication skills are an advantage. The engineer should be comfortable in an international working environment and be fluent in English, one of the official languages of ESA.
