Summary This is a short term 5 month fixed term contract and is expected to be a part time role 25 hours per week. Objective Great opportunity for a bright engineer to join an existing team supporting the Earth Observation data processing team to build on hisher software validation skills. Responsibilities Duties The engineer will support the existing team in the following tasks The preparation and execution of the EO data processor validations Conducting anomaly investigations Routine operations and data Quality control checks The development of ad hoc scripts for data analysis. Qualifications Experience The engineer should have a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject and experience of software systems He she must have some previous experience in software validation Preparation of validation plan and their execution. Also, knowledge with the involved documents requirements, validation plans and reports Essential Skills Fluent English language skills spoken and written Familiar with Quality Control documentation ICDs, Configuration Control, Reporting... Very good programming skills. Specially scripting languages Bash, Python and Matlab Experienced with the Linux environment Knowledge of Earth Observation data processing systems Knowledge of satellite data calibration Desirable Skills Knowledge of IDL Knowledge of the SMOS mission DPGS, processors... Previous experience in Quality Control for Earth Observation data Previous experience in software development Qualities Must have demonstrated experience in the following areas Teamwork Analytical thinking Organized Further Details All roles within Telespazio VEGA have a defined closing date, however if a successful candidate is found before the advert expires the role will be closed early.
