Vitrociset Belgium is looking for a candidate with the profile described below to deploy in ESOC in the domain of Satellite operations Engineering. TASKS You shall operate all or part of the mission system, which may incorporate parts of the ground segment as well as the space segment, as specified for each mission. The positions could cover pre and post launch activities. For prelaunch tasks, you will be required to assist in configuring and testing the operational system to support the operations. You may also be required to develop methods or tools to assist in the execution of the operations. You will be required to become familiar with the mission and the control facilities at your disposal. You will take part in simulations and prelaunch test campaigns, and in postlaunch refresher training and simulation. Regular use of a spacecraft simulator is to be planned for, but it has to be considered essential to the continued successful operation of a mission, but has a lower priority than operational tasks. Depending on the mission and the missions phase, the required support could be done in a shift rota to continuously have 24 hours manning team or normal office hours, with occasional shifts or overtime during special or critical activities such as prelaunch tests and simulations. PROFILE A good background in a scientific or technical discipline is necessary, to the level equivalent to Senior Technician. Experience operating spacecraft or related ground systems is highly desirable. Fluency in English is mandatory as this is the working language at ESAESOC. The post holder must be able to work effectively in this language.
