ResponsibilitiesDuties The position requires training and certification in two key areas of Spacecraft Operations i.e Ground Systems and the Flight Operation. Although the core team assigned will be GEO Team, the work will be delivered on a rotational basis between these two different areas in two different teams located at the same customer premises in long term. The tasks are delivered in 24 X 7 shift pattern with possible oncall requirements, As a first step, you will certify in the area of Flight operations in the Geostationary mission operations team. The core duties will be as below but not limited to Certification as a spacecraft Controller Supervision of system performance and of automatic service provision to customers Maintenance of actual mission planning data and the mission schedule Monitoring of the health status of all satellites components Monitoring the use of the satellite payload Levell response to anomalies, based on procedures Data collection after anomalies Activation of engineering support if required User Help Desk first Response In second step, for which the timeline is not yet defined and will be based on availability of appropriate resources as well as the Service Managers discretion, you will train and certify in the area of Ground Systems in the SCC team The core duties will be as below but not limited to Coordination and facilitation of real time spacecraft operation Monitoring and control of software system for such spacecraft operations Monitoring of voice and data circuits Configuration of the event clock Preprocessing of all tracking data Maintenance of an activities and operations log Extract events in log for analysis Anomaly reporting Assistance to Oncall personnel in troubleshooting Reports concerning System Operations Backup. QualificationsExperience Strong educational background in Aerospace, Telecommunication or IT related stream Preferably, with an engineering degree but is not a must due to extensive onsite training Proficient user of computer systems Proficient in MS Office suite and preferably with some knowhow of LINUX Knowhow of any programming language, though not necessary, will be considered positively. Fluency in English. Spoken German skills will be appreciated though not required. Role Description Summary The Controller, Spacecraft Operations has the following two main areas of contribution 1 monitor and control several GEO andor MEO satellites to ensure the safety of the assets providing the best performance to the customers and maximizing the spacecraft lifetime 2 Achieve accreditation and specialization on the ground systems and satellite platforms of relevance. Primary ResponsibilitiesKey Result Areas Operate spacecraft by approved procedures and the daily operations plan. Continuously monitor spacecraft telemetry and alarm status. Respond to alarms or anomalous conditions by using good judgment, in particular by applying the process of analyzing anomalous behaviors, identifying the cause, implementing and verifying the appropriate contingency procedure, and if necessary by calling for additional support. Reliable and accurate execution of spacecraft operating procedures. Support to coordinate the availability and use of a diverse worldwide network of operational resources. Perform special tests on behalf of engineering by an approved procedure. Originate spacecraft and equipment anomaly reports. Strive for accuracy in reporting the facts. Maintain the spacecraft operations logbook concisely and accurately. Assist in the development of schedules, logs, forms, charts, graphs, and other devices designed to provide thorough records of performance. Ensure that all displays for spacecraft operations are kept uptodate. Perform offline data analysis. Be able to create the Operations Schedule if instructed to do so specific MEO SOC. Responsible for the operational configuration of the station TTC support path. Ensure that spacecraft telemetry and command capability is always available. For MEO SOC, manage the TTC resources to track and command the satellites. Manual and Autonomous execution of maneuver burn plans Specific GEO SOC Rotate shifts on 24hour duty, 7 days per week. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager. Attend regular training sessions in order to achieve and maintain an accreditation level to perform all required functions.
