The successful applicant will become a member of the Mars Express and ExoMars mission to support the spacecraft operations in a 247 shift team. As Spacecraft Controller you will monitor and control all operational progress for Spacecraft related procedures, as well as contribute to the preparation of database documentation, analysis of subsystems, applying the contingencyemergency procedures. This is an exciting opportunity for a technician or junior engineer to step into the world of space operations supporting our customer ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. The Spacecraft Controller should start 01.09.2017. The position is fulltime and permanent. Submission deadline for applicants is 31.07.2017. ResponsibilitiesDuties Execution of endtoend routine and contingency operations for the Satellites and possibly also their relative ground stations, to include Preparation, monitoring and remote control of the Spacecraft and Ground stations Monitoring of data, health check of the equipment, preparation and performance of operations following established procedure and verification of results Troubleshooting with help of procedures and preparation of reports QualificationsExperience A minimum of a technical Higher Education qualification in Telecommunications, IT or similar is required Some experience of shift work would be an advantage, but not essential A university degree in a Science or IT related discipline electronics, physics, computing, programming, process control, ground station operations, would be an advantage, but not essential Essential Skills A strong technical oriented background Good communication skills Fluency in English, both in speaking and writing Ability to work autonomously according to high level guidelines and to work in international teams A good working knowledge of MS Office Tools Collaborative and team worker Solution orientated Desirable Skills Knowledge of ground segment elements mission control systems, simulators, satellite database, mission planning, flight dynamics, etc. A working knowledge of Linux CertificationTraining Certification onsite as a Spacecraft Controller, Training duration typically 3 months Your Benefits of joining us By joining the Telespazio family, you will enjoy all the benefits of a competitive salary in a sustainable work environment, flexible working time models, diverse advancement and training possibilities for technical, language and soft skills, a generous holiday package as well as a company pension scheme.
