RHEA is currently recruiting a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to support SOM during the prelaunch operations preparation, ops products validation and the LEOP execution phases of Galileo IOC missions. Please note that this position is based at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities Your primary tasks and activities may include Data Handling, TTC, onboard software and OBSM operations engineer Close interaction and working with the other Galileo LEOP SOEs, based at ESOC and CNES Reviewing documentation produced by the Galileo spacecraft manufacturer SSEG Reviewing procedures created by SSEG Reviewing procedures created by OPS Developing LEOP specific nominal and contingency recovery operating procedures using the MOIS tools Providing specialist subsystem advice on the development and content of the Operational Database Developing tools to manage the Data Handling and TTC subsystems during LEOP in particular ANDs, GRDs, mimics and offline tools Validating procedures using the Galileo Constellation Simulator CSIM and the Galileo LEOP specific SCOS2000 based control system LSCCF Preparing and participating in the SCTCs SVTs. This will also involve the preparation of SCTC specific procedures and the writing of SCTC reports Identifying, recording, investigating and progressing of spacecraft and groundbased anomalies during the SCTCs, simulations campaign and LEOP Preparing and participating in the simulations campaign Assisting the simulations officer to provided specialist subsystem knowledge for the simulations campaign. Participating in the LEOP. This will involve shiftworking to provide 24 hour support to the spacecraft Supporting Handover and postLEOP activities, including contribution to the LEOP report. Skills and Experience You must possess the following skills and experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline Spacecraft subsystem knowledge, in particular good knowledge of Data Handling and TTC subsystems Good knowledge of OBSM configuration, operation, inputs and products Good operational experience Experience with prelaunch activities and launch campaigns Experience with MOIS tools Ground Segment knowledge at system level Familiarity with SCOS2000 mission control system Familiarity with operational simulators Familiarity with the ESOC environment Experience with ground systems testing Experience dealing with external interfaces Familiarity with PC based MS tools Team player, ability to coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields Selfstarter, ability to work independently with little or no supervision Ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems Fluency in English, both in speech and writing How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
