Directorate of Human Spaceflight and Operations The European Space Agency is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from women POST Spacecraft Operations Engineer in the Swarm Spacecraft Operations Unit, Earth Observation Missions Division, Mission Operations Department, Directorate of Human Spaceflight and Operations. This post is classified in the A2A4 grade band of the Coordinated Organisations salary scale. LOCATION ESOC, Darmstadt Germany. DUTIES The postholder will be assigned initially to the Swarm Flight Control Team as operations engineer and will report to the Swarm Spacecraft Operations Manager SOM. The tasks will include the following Assisting the SOM as deputy for the preparation and execution of the Swarm operations including routine, extended and endofmission phases Assisting the SOM in the evolution and validation of the Flight Operations Segment FOS including internal and external interfaces Planning and execution of routine and special operations, including calibrations, mission planning, reporting, anomaly investigation and resolution Analysing and reporting on spacecraft and ground segment longterm analysis and behaviour performance Interfacing with the ESRIN Mission Management and, as required, Payload Data Ground Segment, for mission and ground segmentrelated activities Interfacing with industry and ESTEC specialists for technical matters including special operations, changes to spacecraft design and operations documentation and performance reports Interfacing with other ESOC divisions for spacecraft operations matters Providing support to the SOM in the reviews and preparations of other Earth Observation missions delegated to the Earth Observation Missions Division i.e. Earth ExplorersCopernicus. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or physics, together with good professional experience in spacecraft andor operational applications. Candidates should be systemminded, be able to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, be selfmotivateddisciplined and resultsoriented. Experience with both Platform and Payload Operations is highly desirable. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these two languages is required together with a working knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of another member state language is an asset.
