Are you able to support our Copernicus Sentinel3 Spacecraft Operations Team providing engineering activities including flight operations and the preparation for operations of planned future launches and commissioning? If so then wed love to hear from you. EUMETSAT is the European satellite agency for monitoring weather and climate. Bringing together the resources of 30 Member States, we develop and operate a range of satellite systems surveying the atmosphere, ocean and climate that deliver information 24 hours a day. Our data is vital to weather forecasts that enable us to protect lives and property as well as monitoring the changing climate. EUMETSAT is now developing the next generation of satellite systems, shaping its longterm future. We are inviting applications from engineers with experience of the space sector and keen to work in a high availability, 247 operational environment. The role will give you the opportunity to support the planning and execution of routine operations for the current Copernicus Sentinel 3 S3 satellites, as well as participating in the operational preparation activities for the future S3 satellites. Along with a university degree or equivalent in engineering, you shall ideally have skillsexperience in each of the following areas experience in the field of Low Earth Orbit LEO satellite operations, preferably gained during the development or operations of an Earth Observation space system ability to understand and synthesise complex issues, coupled with great interpersonal and organisational skills ability to communicate technical concepts in formal documents and verbal presentations personal initiative and action orientation demonstrated through professional experience Skillsexperience in the following would be considered an advantage knowledge of Satellite System design andor Satellite Monitoring and Control Principles experience of managing small teams experience of training other personnel In addition to attractive salary and benefits, we offer an outstanding working environment in Darmstadt, the City of Science.
