Position Reference 825 We are currently looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to work at our clients premises in the city of Darmstadt, Germany. The key person will be primarily assigned to the Mars Exploration Missions Operations Unit OPSOPX within the Solar System Exploration Missions Division but with the possibility of supporting other missions within this division. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Tests Preparation and Execution Preparation of Standalone Validation of each Ground Segment Elements, additional adhoc support to the system testing preparation. Execution of Data Systems testing and validation upon delivery. Definition and Execution of test procedures during IGST, SVT, DFT and other endtoend testing. FOP Preparation Writing and testing FOP procedures. Mission Phase Definition Mission phase definition, High level and Timeline planning. Mission Phase Execution LEOP, Commissioning, Mars Arrival, Surface operations, etc. Learning and Training, simulation campaigns, inputs to task22 for FOP and MIB updates and validation, Dress rehearsal, launch window variability, LEOP shift pattern, critical real time operations, Coordination with PI and SOC. Operations Supervision Oncall presence troubleshoot problems during pass conduction, Restoring Spacecraft to Nominal Operation, detecting and fixing known anomalies OOLCEL, data gap recovery, Pass reporting, inputs to regular reporting. Execution of recovery actions as decided during Anomaly Management. Tools and FOP Maintenance Maintainupgrade MPS rules, Automation scripts, OBCPs, mission models, etc. Coordinate with other missions to maintain maximum commonality. Maintainmodify FOP procedures, MIB database in response to operations changes. Anomaly Handling Organise MRB, perform investigations determine sequence of events and cause and plan recovery or adaptation of operations. Validation and Deployment of Ground Systems updates Testing, validation of patch deliveries. Management and coordination of internal mission interfaces Daily Operational coordination with Fdyn, ESTRACK, SWS, ICT, Space Debris, station usage planning, Fdyn requirements for Radiometry, data exchange interfaces, etc. Mission Planning Execute the different MP processes LTP, MTP, STP, VSTP, etc. and generate the corresponding products. Aim to maintain a common baseline for the division. OnBoard Software Maintenance Support Service Implementation of OBSW patches Upload, dump, verify. Spacecraft Performance Analysis and Reporting Task 33 Setup of tools and processes for regular generation of spacecraft performance reports and trend analysis. Periodic generation of the corresponding technical reports. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree in a relevant discipline. Spacecraft subsystem knowledge DHOBSMAOCS Power Thermal TTC Payload. Experience in Ground Segment development andor improvement activities in support of flight operations. Experience in activities applicable to spacecraft operations. Ability to coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. The following skills would be highly desirable Experience in the generation of nominal contingency procedures. Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000. Familiarity with Onboard SW and OBCP development. Familiarity with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat. Familiarity with deep space missions. Familiarity with MOIS. Experience in testing and validation of ground segment systems. Familiarity with the ESOC environment.
