A new opportunity has arisen for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to provide support to the astronomy and fundamental physics missions operated by ESOC. The candidate will initially support XMMNewton INTEGRAL primarily, but with the possibility of supporting other missions within the Astronomy and Fundamental Physics Missions Division at a later stage of the service provision. The primary areas of responsibility for this service are to support the Spacecraft Operations Managers in the development of operations procedures for onboard thermal control of platform and instruments, deorbiting, mission control system and simulator migration and automation activities. All applicants will require Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and operations i.e. OBDH, PowerThermal, propulsion system, instruments Knowledge of SCOS and procedure generation tools is desired, where experience of XMM Integral specific tools FOP tool, fopgen, MOIS, Operational Simulator, MCS, Database, Mission planning would be an asset. The successful candidate will work in the role of SOE on the XMM Integral missions and as such is required to have the basic qualifications for a SOE position. The following attributes would be considered advantageous Previous spacecraft operations experience is highly desirable Experience of ODBHOBSM is desirable. All candidates require a good working knowledge of the English language.
