This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. Spacecraft Operations Engineer for Sentinel3 1412089 Job Description For our customer ESA, we are looking for a Spacecrafts Operations Engineer to work in the Sentinel3 mission. The main areas of responsibility include System Operations including among others the FDIR, Interfaces between Platform OBSW AOCS, and Instrument Units Support to the implementation and execution of the Commissioning plan Other areas of responsibility also include Validation, test and operation of the MCS, including the OBSM and Mission Planning System Validation, test and operation of the Simulator Generation, validation and maintenance of the FOP primarily on System Volumes but also for other subsystems as required Support for FOS procurement, integration and tests Support the interfaces with external partners Industry, PDGS, CNES, EUMETSAT Review of satellite documents LEOP support support SOM and the Deputy SOM as System operations engineer Commissioning support support SOM and the Deputy SOM in the preparation, implementation and execution of the Commissioning Plan Required Skills and Experience Spacecraft System Operations knowledge, including FDIR SW at HW level , interfaces between Platform and SW, AOCS and Instruments Experience in working in an operational environment Experience with flight procedures life cycle, including preparation of high level plans Timelines, phase dependent plans Experience with organisation or execution of tests involving both ground and space segment Experience with anomaly investigations Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Ability to work independently and with little supervision Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Experience dealing with external international partners Experience with Packet Utilisation Standard Experience with the ESOC environment Experience with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000 Experience with low Earth orbit satellites Experience with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat Desirable Skills and Experience Familiarity preparing, implementing and executing operations for scientific instruments Familiarity with multi satellite missions Familiarity with operational support tools EDDS, MUST, etc Work Location Darmstadt, Germany Dates Application Deadline 12 November 2014 Start of Work 01 January 2015 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career.
