Summary A rare opportunity to for an experienced engineer to support the Head of Requirements and Standards Division TECQR of the ESA Directorate of Technical and Quality Management TEC, and the other members of the Division, to fulfill their duties on Standardization and related activities. Objective To support the application of standardization documents, and monitoringreporting upon their use and suitability for space applications. Responsibilities Duties Contribute to the establishment of an ESA standards implementation procedure, tailoring commendations, and associated solutionstools. Support the application of ESA standardization policy by contributing to the maintenance of the List of ESA approved standards providing support as requested by projects with respect to the understanding, applicability and tailoring of standards. Support the application of standards by contributing to the transfer and maintenance of standards into Requirement management Tools used in ESA e.g. DOORS. Collect, organize, analyze and keep up to date the feedback from both users and developers and lesson learnt from the application of standards, in particular for suitability of documents in respect to project needs. From the previous analysis, derive inputs to be injected in the maintenanceupdate of the documents. Support the establishment of a standardization training program and contribute to the generation of the corresponding training material. Support the preparation and execution of events e.g. meetings reviews, conferences and workshops, and the recording of associated minutes and actions and their followup. Support the preparation of Standardization and Divisional reports and their presentation. Support development and maintenance of the ESA and ECSS standardization websites organization and content. Additionally, the tasks to be performed also include, as requested Contributesupport the definition, implementation and reports of standardization processes, procedures, Work plans and activities. Act as requested as secretary of standardization groups. Contribute to the definition, implementation and maintenance of the document configuration process. Qualifications Experience MSc in engineering, with specialization in aerospace related field. Five years or more of experience as engineer, with at least 3 years in the aerospace field. Experience in drafting and tailoring requirements documents in projects, and in supporting application of standards in projects and in drafting ITTs. Knowledge of OpenOffice and Microsoft Project. Familiarization with Requirement Management Tools e.g. DOORS and database management systems e.g. Oracle, MySQL or Access. Essential Skills Good command of written and spoken English. High skills in office automation tools, and particularly in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio and email client e.g. LotusNotes. Good organization, presentation and communication skills. Capability to lead a team. Ability to acquire, coordinate and synthesize data and provide timely output. Ability to work in an international team environment and to interface at various levels, within and outside DTEC. Qualities Constancy, rigour and initiative in the execution of the assigned work. Open minded and ability to adapt to new situations, with the capacity and attitude for learning. Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team and able to handle occasional high work load situations.
