A baker's dozen of the largest companies in Florida paid a lower corporate income tax rate in recent years than is called for in state law. The 13 profitable Fortune 500 corporations headquartered in Florida paid a 2.7 percent average corporate profits tax rate to state governments in the U.S. between 2011 and 2013, according to a study by Integrity Florida, a nonpartisan research institute.
