INTRODUCTION SCISYS Deutschland GmbH in its Engineering Service business provides professional engineering and consultancy services supporting space programmes and missions. Our team is composed of university graduates and experienced professionals, comprising some of the most knowledgeable and dedicated engineers across Europe. Our services cover the whole life cycle of space programmes from early concepts to operations. Our Space Division provides a dynamic, supportive and friendly atmosphere in which you are encouraged to lead with initiative. Moreover, we actively manage your professional development, training and career progression. YOUR TASKS The EUMETSAT Technical and Scientific Support Department TSS provides support to operations of existing satellite systems and to the development of new programmes. Currently EUMETSAT operates the Meteosat Second Generation MSG, the EUMETSAT Polar System EPS and the Copernicus Sentinel 3 space and ground satellite systems. In addition, EUMETSAT is contributing to the operation of a number of other missions, such as JASON, NPP and some other 3rd Party Missions. The focus of routine operations at EUMETSAT is the provision, by effective utilisation of all elements of the space and ground systems, of timely and reliable operational services to the users. For the future, several new missions are in preparation such as Meteosat Third Generation MTG, EPS Second Generation EPS SG, Sentinels follow on and others. Within the System Engineering and Projects Division SEP of the Technical and Scientific Support Department TSS, the Contractor will provide services EUMETSAT contributing to the System Engineering activities for Data Processing systems, MultiMission systems and Ground Segment level systems for existing and future missions. The services will initially cover the system and interfaces engineering activities by contributing to the routine operations of the operational programmes and contributing to multimission systems. In the frame of support provided by the TSS Department to the development of new programmes, the tasks of the Contractor will then gradually evolve to provide also service to the future programmes as they become operational, in the area of ground segment system engineering and, in particular, interfaces definition. The Contractor shall contribute to maintaining the overall system design documentation of the existing and future ground segment level systems, data processing systems and multimission elements MMEs, hereafter named as systems. When evolutions of these systems are proposed and implemented, the Contractor shall analyse them and verify the system and interfaces coherence. In the role of service to the maintenance and evolution activities of the operational programmes, the tasks of the Contractor shall include Contribute to the System Requirements Definition process andor maintaining existing requirements baselines Contribute to the maintenance, for all the operational ground systems, of a complete and consistent set of System Technical Documentation and the baseline Contribute to the creation of System Engineering models of Ground Systems using an MBSE approach e.g. Enterprise Architect andor maintaining existing model baselines Perform technical analysis of system architecture and specification evolutions or major upgrades of the operational ground systems, for interfaces coherence and compatibility check with other ongoing developments Contribute to the IVV testing approach for major evolutions of the operational ground systems and contribute to the coordination of the installation, integration and verification of new systems into the operational infrastructure Contribute to the various OPS TSS Projects and associated reviews, as required, providing System Engineering contributions during the design phase and contribute actively to the definition of the IVV activities Contribute to the assessment of Engineering Tasks providing System Engineering expertise to CRBs and ARBs Contribute to the impact analysis of ICT evolutions in operational systems. Contribute to the analysis, investigations and resolution of system and ground segment level anomalies Provide expert inputs to EUMETSAT engineers on all related activities as requested Contribution to the OPS regular coordination processes as requested. In the role of services to the development of new EUM programmes, the tasks of the Contractor shall include Participate to the description of the system architecture and interfaces between external systems and the mission specific elements of the ground system including data processing systems and MMEs In coordination with the system and interface engineers of the future ground segment, ensure that the definition and documentation of new interfaces are compatible with the methodology used in Operations this includes the use of common templates for Interface Control Document and the use of the same tool for maintaining the interfaces data dictionary Provide support to the definition of the IVV approach for the future ground systems. YOUR PROFILE Experience in the field of Systems Engineering and architectural design for data processing systems, MMEs and ground segment systems Capability to prepare system requirements and design documents, and to perform systemlevel analyses for complex satellitebased systems. Experience of writing technical requirements preferably to ECSS standards. Experience of interface management and definition. Familiarity with mechanisms and tools for detailed interface definition. Capability to prepare and manage ICD. Use of modelling and design languages for System Engineering e.g. SysML and tools in support of architectural design activities e.g. Enterprise Architect Knowledge of space and ground system engineering processes, and system and software lifecycles and standards. Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS. Experience in Integration, Verification and Validation IVV of complex systems. In addition, for the accomplishment of the listed tasks, the team shall possess knowledge and experience in the following two mandatory domains, and minimum of two nonmandatory Mandatory Data processing IVV for Ground Segment. Nonmandatory Dissemination o Archive systems Ground Stations Computer systems Mission Control and Monitoring Systems It would be an advantage for the service team to have knowledge andor experience with some of the following Full development cycle of large systems, from the definition of requirements to system design and testing Configuration Control processes and tools Familiarity with the ECSS standards WE OFFER With SCISYS you get the chance to take responsibility for your own and varied professional activities, while there is always room for producing new ideas and contributing your personality.
