Tax breaks proposed for Switch data center draw conservative fire

After State Rep. Ken Yonker met with executives from Switch, a Nevada company that wants to create a world-class data center in the former Steelcase pyramid, the Caledonia Republican shook their hands and declared it a "done deal." That claim will be challenged next week when Yonker's colleagues take up enabling legislation to exempt Switch and other data centers from sales taxes, use taxes and property taxes.
