Primary Purpose of Role In the frame of Thales Alenia Space TAS deployment in UK In the frame of the development of payload modules for new space missions, the Thermal Architect will lead the Thermal Engineering aspects of a multidisciplinary team. The Thermal Architect will support and lead in the thermal analysis and verification activities. Heshe will be in charge of the Thermal architecture tradeoffs covering all engineering aspects in conjunction with dedicated engineering specialists. WPM for Thermal Technical activities, compiling and approving estimates Phase CD activities will include qualification test planning, set up, execution and results assessment. HeShe will contribute to the Satellite phase BCD technical proposal. Principal Relationships Relationships will be required to be built and maintained with the following principals Payload Systems Engineer TAS UK Project Manager and design team External partners ESA, UKSA, TASF, TASI Other industrial team members Payload providers Key Responsibilities and tasks Lead Thermal design activities for payload module in cooperation with other TAS entities. Lead the Thermal design, establish the test planqualification sequence for the mechanical aspects. Define the interfaces, in direct relation with the Payload System Engineer and other subsystems Avionics, Thermal System Identify the key drivers for the product competitiveness related to Thermal aspects. Develop TAS UK skill in Thermal Engineer area. Key Performance Indicators KPIs for the role will be specifically developed with the role holder however these will cover Ontime execution of Payload Thermal Engineering deliveries Ontime execution of project phase CD technical proposal in relation to the Payload Thermal Engineering activities Data package delivery for project milestones all milestone deliveries being met internally and for the customer Timing execution of all activities in relation with MAIT sequence and qualification completion Experience and Skills Design of Thermal systems and subsystems, including control methods and hardware Experience with producing relevant documents and presenting at reviews. Experience with Thermal hardware, such as temperature sensors, radiators MLI. Experience planning, conducting and reviewing Thermal testing activities. Thermal analysis using relevant codes ie, ESATAN.. Understanding Thermal modelling requirements Setting up, running and assessing transient and steadystate models. Interpreting and reporting results. Performing model checks and reductions. Supervision of thermal analysis using ESATANESARAD or other equivalent code Production of GMMs and generation of orbital heat loads and surface view factors Production of TMMs and runningassessing static and transient cases Experience with planning, executing and evaluating environmental tests, including thermalvacuum and vibration Experience with validation of highstability optomechanical structures would be of benefit Experience of working in a multidiscipline team environment Experience of working closely with Customer, partners, suppliers Experience in technical proposal preparation would be an asset Experience in Space domain Education Qualifications Engineering degree Personality Behaviors Values Displays energy, drive, agility and resilience in achieving workrelated goals under difficult circumstances.
