DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Eighteen-E was located near latitude 16.1 North, longitude 117.2 West. The depression is moving toward the west near 9 mph (15 km/h). A west-northwest to northwest motion is expected during the next few days. Maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is forecast, and the depression is expected to become a tropical storm overnight or on Sunday. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
