Vectren is ready to apologize to local customers for an error that led to surprisingly high gas bills for some, and is planning to do that tonight in person. The utility company has scheduled a public meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at Columbus City Hall, 123 Washington St. "The intent of the meeting is to have a transparent conversation with those in attendance and show, to the best of our ability, what happened and what made things happen, and offer them a face-to-face apology," Vectren spokeswoman Natalie Hedde said.
