Post Vega Operational Launch System Project Manager and VegaC Launch System Architect This post is classified A2A4 on the Coordinated Organisations salary scale. Location ESRIN, Frascati, Italy Description Vega Operational Launch System Project Manager and VegaC Launch System Architect in the Vega Operational Launch System Project, Vega Exploitation Programme, Launchers Exploitation Department, Directorate of Space Transportation. Duties Under the authority of the Vega Exploitation Programme Manager the duties of the Vega Operational Launch System Project Manager and VegaC Launch System Architect include Managing selected LEAP Vega activities, in particular those relevant to launch system anomaly treatment, obsolescence, detailed flight analysis, samplingtesting Launch system qualification, including delta qualification activities e.g. resolution of qualification reservations, treatment of robustness issues, compliance with safety requirements and the management of the evolution of the Vega Launch System qualification certificate Assessing Arianespace requests for changes in the design of the Vega Launch System and representing the Agency in any boards deciding on changes to the Vega Launch System which call into question its qualification Managing the specifications, including interface requirements, of the Vega Launch System, from definition to verification of new requirements deriving from changes of the qualified configuration Supporting the preparation of VegaC exploitation, including in establishing VegaC exploitation cost files related to its transition and stabilized phases Managing the definition, design, validation of the VegaC operational concept Managing the definition, design and validation of the VegaC Launch Base Ground Proximity Means, Ground Support Means, Launch Range and relevant timely implementation in line with the VegaC schedule Contributing to VegaC Launch System definition, design, verification and validation, in particular through the definition, design, verification and validation, and synthesis of the VegaC Launch VehicletoLaunch Base and Launch BasetoPayload Requirements and Interfaces the preparation and conduction of the VegaC combined tests and maiden flight qualification campaign Ensuring the coordination and the consistency of the VegaC launch system adaptations with Vega launch system exploitation needs The systematic exhaustive reporting of the status and criticalities of the activities in the domain of responsibility, for weekly management meetings with line management reporting meetings with upper management reports to ESA decisionmaking bodies. Technical competencies Multidisciplinary knowledge of area of responsibility Knowledge of cost and schedule aspects related to area of responsibility Knowledge of other technical domains with interfaces to own area of responsibility Space system development and PA standards Complex project risk management processes ESA and industrial development, verification and procurement processes Leadership competencies Acting as a role model Promoting diversity Driving performance Developing motivating people Fostering cooperation effective teamworking Strategic vision business context Leading change Behavioural competencies Results orientation Problem solving Planning organisation Responsible decisionmaking Communication Teamwork Education Applicants should have a Masters degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or physics, with a minimum of ten years systemlevel experience in space transportation. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
