Earth Observation Regional Sales Manager Europe

Role Purpose develop the Earth Observation business in the region interact with potential users to understand and interpret their needs and requirements prepare and deliver sales proposals and quotations manage and develop key sales accounts, resellers and partners. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities the Regional Sales Manager is expected to Drive sales revenue, identifying, cultivating, winning and growing business in Earth Observation, satellite technologies and related application domains throughout the specified region. Become an expert in the products and services of the company. Analyze the market in the region actors, competitors, requirements, trends, potential, etc.. Identify potential customers and their needs, in order to expand the customer base in the region Actively develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts. Interact with customers to understand their needs and translate these into proposals. Prepare and deliver sales proposals and quotations responding to RFIRFPs. Manage and increase value in key accounts by develop and foster customer loyalty by creating business solutions focused on longterm relationship. Work with customers to understand needs and customer workflows feeding back to the EO Product Manager, sales, marketing and senior management team. 100 mandatory use of CRM for all sales opportunities, customerresellerpartner interfaces, updating the sales pipeline regularly resulting in a weekly report to the Regional Sales Director. Attend major industry events, conferences, tradeshows and expositions to represent the company where appropriate and justified. KPI Target Metrics Maintain and grow EO market share, in the region. Increase revenue and profitability directly through the EO portfolio. Increase customer loyalty and repeat business. Education and Requirements University degree or equivalent in Technical Areas Remote Sensing, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautic, Physics, Geology, Geography etc. MBA or equivalent will be considered an asset. Broad experience on a similar role. Must have experience in Earth Observation market or remote sensing Proven track record within Earth Observation market selling Satellite Images Command of English is mandatory plus Skills 5 years sales experience, with proven results in multiple customer facing roles. Honest and ethical approach New business sales focus more hunter than farmer High customer oriented Team player with proactive and positive attitude Target driven, leads from the front. Strong Gravitas and influence. Excellent communication skills. Strong written and oral communication skills First class negotiator. Proactive. Positive attitude. As part of its growth strategy the SCISYS Space Division has successfully secured contracts in the Earth observation downstream market and is currently bidding for additional work in a variety of markets. Given this overall trend within the space sector, it is an excellent opportunity for an Earth Observation and Remote Sensing specialist to join the team and be part of a growing and significant part of the business for SCISYS. SCISYS delivers a wide range of software services, solutions and consultancy to our institutional and commercial clients around the world. Developing robust, realworld software is our core business, as well as providing support services that create a real benefit to our customers. Our solutions are frequently at the heart of our clients operations and therefore critical to their business. Delivering these solutions requires a partnership approach and mutual trust, which we pride ourselves on and promote amongst our workforce. Fusing our previous work in data and image processing, machine learning and data analytics gives SCISYS the tools, processes and platform upon which to deliver the information clients desire from space borne data. The focus of this role is not the pixels typically offered by the current Earth observation market but rather the services and information derived via data analytics to governments and commercial customers. SCISYS is therefore looking to recruit an earth observation and remote sensing specialist to be based at our Bristol office in the UK. The Role The role of the Earth Observation Specialist is to support current and future research and development consultancy projects, as well as operational services and project delivery. The Earth Observation Specialist will also contribute to the identification and realisation of new business opportunities within the downstream EO applications domain by supporting the Business Development team in the preparation and submission of relevant proposals, as well as supporting meetings with prospective clients. As a result, the successful candidate will contribute to the entire lifecycle from concept generation to the realisation of delivery and thereby play a significant role in the business. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Providing expertise in EO and GIS to support application development Generation of ideas and concepts for new and innovative EOenabled products, solutions and services Technical development work that implements EOenabled solutions Participating in consortiumbased RD teams providing technical leadership on contracts where SCISYS is the prime or subcontractor Providing technical support to the bidding process Maintaining awareness of evolving and innovative EO and GIS technologies and techniques Supporting the development and mentoring of SCISYS colleagues in the area of EO Defining the technical roadmap and strategic direction of our EO solutions and services Requirements This is a superb opportunity for an individual to join a dynamic and supportive business. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following Relevant post graduate qualifications in Geomatics, Physical Geography, Environmental Science, Applied Remote Sensing or related fields Solid experience in applied use of EO data, both SAR and optical would be advantageous but needs to demonstrably expert in at least one and preferably in a commercial context Excellent awareness of and ability in the exploitation of image processing techniques Experience of relevant image processingGIS software packages such as ERDAS, ENVI, eCognition, ESRI, NEST, Sentinel Toolboxes, etc. Relevant programming experience Python, IDL Experience of big data, data science or data analytics will be advantageous, as well as machine learning techniques such as Deep Learning Entrepreneurial flair and being able to spot opportunities quickly Commercial awareness and identifying potential risk areas Selfstarter with initiative and a strong motivation to succeed Professional and positive approach Strong oral and written communication skills in English Willingness to travel when required to customer sites.
