SE Hawthorne-Salmon Area Green Street and Sewer Project Update: December 23, 2015

Environmental Services continues construction on the SE Hawthorne-Salmon Area Green Street and Sewer Project. The project includes installing 23 green street planters, planting 100 street trees, and repairing or replacing over 10,000 feet of public sewer pipe. These improvements will extend the service life of our sewer system and protect public health, property and the environment by reducing the possibility of sewage releases into streets, homes and businesses.

Sellwood-Moreland Sewer Repair Project Construction Update: December 8, 2015

Environmental Services is repairing or replacing about 25,000 feet of public sewer pipes in the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood that are between 80 and 100 years old and failing due to age. This project will help protect the public and the environment by reducing the possibility of costly breaks, leaks, blockages and sewage releases to homes, businesses and streets.

SW Stephenson/Hamilton Roadside Swale Project Update: December 1, 2015

Construction is underway on Environmental Services stormwater management projects on SW Stephenson Street between SW 35th Avenue and Boones Ferry Road, and on SW Hamilton Street between SW 40th and 47th avenues. The projects will help protect water quality in Fanno and Tryon creeks.

Southwest Ventilation Project Update: November 13, 2015

Environmental Services is working on a project to reduce sewer odors and increase the capacity of the Southwest Parallel Interceptor sewer system. The project is designed to accommodate current needs and potential growth. Since February, the contractor has installed about 1,000 feet of 24-inch concrete pipe and six manholes along SW Taylors Ferry Road, and three manholes on SW Virginia Avenue.
