Blackberry revenues drop to USD 464 mln on write-downs

(Telecompaper) Blackberry revenues for the fourth quarter fell to USD 464 million from 660 million the year before, pulled down by write-downs associated with recent acquisitions. The net result sank to a loss of USD 238 million or USD 0.45 per share, from a gain of 28 million or 0.05 per share, reflecting negative one-offs and amortisation, as well as pre-tax charges of USD 192 million related to restructuring and acquisition costs.

Oi revenues fall 8.5% in Q4, no guidance for 2016

(Telecompaper) Brazilian operator Oi ended the fourth quarter of 2015 with BRL 6.70 billion of net revenues, down 8.5 percent on the same period in 2014. EBITDA dropped 46.6 percent to BRL 1.71 billion, and the EBITDA margin fell to 25.5 percent. Recurring EBITDA was down only 2.2 percent to BRL 1.79 billion, for a margin of 26.8 percent. Oi's net loss swelled to BRL 4.55 billion, and net debt increased 24.8 percent over the year to BRL 38.15 billion. Capex dropped 2 percent to BRL 1.08 billion. Oi said it will not provide guidance for 2016 results due to the macroeconomic instability in Brazil.

China Telecom FY revenues up 2% on 4G, FTTH expansion

(Telecompaper) China Telecom reported net profit for 2015 up 13.4 percent to CNY 20.05 billion. The result was helped by a one-time gain of CNY 3.94 billion from the transfer of towers and other infrastructure to a new joint venture with China's other two mobile operators. Revenues rose 2.1 percent to CNY 331.20 billion, while EBITDA fell 0.8 percent to CNY 94.11 billion, hurt by a number of regulatory changes and higher costs. Revenue growth was led by the mobile market, where service revenue was up 3.5 percent to CNY 124.50 billion. Fixed service revenue increased 1.0 percent to CNY 168.76 billion.

Tele Columbus lifts FY revenues 30% after acquisitions

(Telecompaper) Tele Columbus has published its consolidated preliminary results, including PrimaCom with effect from 01 August 2015 and Pepcom with effect from 01 December 2015. For the full year 2015, Tele Columbus reached revenues of EUR 278.7 million, compared with EUR 213.0 million a year earlier. Full-year, normalised EBITDA amounted to EUR 140.9 million up from EUR 98.9 million.
